"Wild Thing, I Think I Love You" from Martha Freud's 2026 series of work, Rebellious Nature.
Each pot is made from a crude black stoneware clay, left alive with grit and the marks of its own making. Every vessel is loosely shaped like a seed: a pod impregnated with growth potential, waiting for provocation.
In the ceramic body of Freud has pressed the phrase "Wild Thing, I Think I Love You", and hand painted the words in white porcelain.
This vessel cannot hold water.
