"Born To Be Wild" from Martha Freud's 2026 series of work, Rebellious Nature.
Each pot is made from a crude black stoneware clay, left alive with grit and the marks of its own making. Every vessel is loosely shaped like a seed: a pod impregnated with growth potential, waiting for provocation.
In the ceramic body of Freud has pressed the phrase "Born To Be Wild", and hand painted the words in white porcelain.
This vessel cannot hold water.
